Edward Leaman

Edward Leaman came to the world of brand building through a journey that has seen him as a designer, a creative director, a marketer and finally a brand builder. It is a journey of many years and different continents. Central to his work is a fundamental belief that people with differing needs are joined and linked to enterprises at the point of emotional and intellectual connection and that brand building is a process of unfolding the brand from the place he calls “belief” through the elements of product, brand experience and communication.
He holds BA and MA degrees from Cambridge University in American history. He was trained as a merchant in London in the late seventies and has developed his passion for the customer as he explored his career in Europe and Japan, in the lifestyle businesses of fashion, interiors and entertainment, as a designer, merchandiser and marketer. He founded Growers and Nomads in 2001, which drives the brand building for a diverse group of brands, direct to consumer, business to business and non-profit, speaking to the modern customer. Nowadays he is still the working CEO of the company and teaches at Stanford University in California.
