Dr. Patrick Hunt

Dr. Patrick Hunt, known as an award-winning archaeologist, writer, composer, poet, art historian – has taught for twenty-five years at Stanford University. He started as a Visiting Scholar in 1992 and since 1994 he has taught courses as Humanities, the Arts, Ancient History and Ancient Technology as well as Archaeological Science. Trained in history and archaeology (Ph.D., Institute of Archaeology, University College London, University of London, 1991), another of his graduate studies include the University of California at Berkeley; American School of Classical Studies, Athens; among others, with research specialties in archeometry, history and art history.
Patrick has directed the Stanford University Alpine Archaeology Project from 1994 to 2012. The project involves leading a team of researchers and students to the Swiss, Italian, and French Alps for various archaeological projects. He is also a National Lecturer for the Archaeological Institute of America, as well as an elected Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (since 1989). He is the author of nearly 20 published books, including the best-seller “Ten Discoveries That Rewrote History”, “Alpine Archaeology”, and most recently, “Hannibal”.
